Life has been busy the last several months. My knee is on the mend I have lost 83 pounds. On 12-11-10 I got a grand-daughter, Chezza Alora she is beautiful (of course I would think so)

If I could tell the President anything I wanted right now I would tell him that while we do not agree on many issues politically, I am more ashamed of him than any other political figure in the last 25 years. Sir you have insulted our closest allies, and now you are once more showing not only the military but the American people you do not care about the very people who with their lives secured your freedoms & granted you & all of us the privilege we enjoy. By not attending the Laying of the Wreath at the tomb of the unknown solider.

Some of you may have heard me talk about our dog better known as the Pampered Pooch or Miss Sara. She has been a wonderful animal to have when we got her she was a submissive urinator. That is a condition that never changes, it just means the animal is extremely submissive and will show it by urinating. We had to learn how to approach her and what not to do with her. Well evidently we did a very good job of giving her what she needs because we rarely have incidents now. Oh you will see her favorite toys in the pictures an old sock! These pictures were taken the other day as we were playing.

The requirements for this swap

For this swap you will create for your partner three things that you think every witch needs. Basically, witch essentials.:-)

Whatever you think every witch needs....this is not partner specific, but after partners have been assigned, check it out for color ideas, or wants.

There is no $ amount for this swap, but no dollar store items. Make this swap something you'd like to receive.

What I sent was:

A small journal to keep as a Book of Shadows, of course you will need something to write with so I added a nice pen. Next I made a pentagram, with colors for the elements dark blue-water, light blue-air, green-earth, and red-fire on the background the pentagram itself is constructed of brown (wood) and ivy as symbols of a Green Witch. I added a red ribbon so that you could hang it or even use it as a bookmark for your BoS. Next I created for an anklet made from black glass beads, amethyst, rose quartz and a goddess pendant I made from Sculpy. A small wooden box to keep small treasures in, that you find or receive. A small alter cloth designed to reflect the owner is a green witch. In a small tin you will find an alter incense/offering for Yule. Additionally I added a few found stones. I also included a briquette to use with it. Lastly you will find some address labels just because I wanted to include them.

Next was Sacred Solstice Swap

Swap requirements:

For this swap you have one partner and must have a rating of 4.8 or higher and no no-sends.

What you send:

Something from the earth (stone, crystal, feather, herbs, etc)

Something magickal (a few sticks of incense, magick candle, oil, etc)

Something handmade and fitting the time (images of the sun, god/goddess, evergreens, fire are some examples)

And lastly a letter describing either a ritual you have done for the solstice, something you love about winter, a connection you have to old yule customs, or just describing simple ways of enjoying the holidays.

What I sent:

Something from the earth several semiprecious stones and chips each have a hole drilled into them & can be strung and put them in different areas of the home. Rose Quartz (large pink stone) draws love and happiness. Amethyst (almost clear purple) purportedly increases spiritual awareness, used in all workings for peace, love, happiness and protection, also used in divination and psychic work. Clear Quartz, used for protection, psychic ability. Aventurine (darker green of the stones) used to increases mental powers, perception and creative insight, gambler's stone. The last one I can’t remember what it is but I had a very strong sense that it was supposed to be included in the package.

Something magickal: I ask my partner had a need and she said she was having trouble relaxing. I have thought about this and decided the best approach was a multi pronged approach. I relize that many people can not relax if the area they live in is not cleasnsed, for that purpose I am including some sea salt to be mixed with water and sprinkled around the home. Second the person must be grounded therefore I have included a hemitite ring if it does not fit wear it on a neacklace against your skin. Third I have blended an herbal incense with the magical properties of calm, peace and relaxation. Lastly I am including some teas I find that actually do a good job of helping me relax, you can sweeten with honey.

Lastly something handmade and fitting the time, you will find a sun image for the alter it is made strickly free hand so while many may be simular none will be exactly like it.

Requirements of Yule Swap

1 You will send 1 item that is pagan themed (can be handmade or store bought)

2 Something to pamper our partner (can be home made or store bought). Examples warm socks, gormet coffee, homemade soaps, facial scrubs, lotions, bath bombs anything that the reciever can use for themself and makes them feel special. Please post allergies here, the last thing anyone would want is to send someone something that will make them ill.

3.1 Yule related item; maybe an alter item in the colors of Yule blues and silvers and whites and sun colors reds and golds, herbs associated with Yule, figurine of an animal associated with Yule.

4.1 item just because (you fill in the blank)

Once more my joy at doing these swaps overrides my good sense & my postage budget ;) To give you an idea of what I sent.

1 Pagan themed item I sent her a goddess pendent & pentagram for your alter. (I made both from Sculpy)

2 Something to pamper yourself. I made her a foot cream I included my recipe ffor her to make more of her own if she liked it.. A wonderful soap I found that contains Rosemary & Thyme. Rosemary is used for purification as is Thyme. However medically Thyme has powerful antibacterial, antibiotic properties, which will be a help since she is diabetic. I am inculding some homemade bath salts that was given to me, I can’t use it so I thought she might enjoy it, I did repackackage it. I also got you a pair of bath and shower gloves, I loves these myself and thought she might enjoy a pair.

3 Candles, since Yule is a celebration of the lengthening of days and of the nights getting shorter I send you candles to light the longest night, of the year. Also I am sent her a silver star to help welcome back the light.

4 A goddess for her alter just because I felt she wanted to come live with my swap partner. I made her from Sculpy and did my best to represent her rising from the earth.

I also included several herbs that are linked to Solstice as well as a hematite ring and an alter cloth.

Since this is the type of swap I love best I tend to go a bit overboard, but I loved putting this together so much I just did not want to stop. But when I realized it was about to the point I would not be able to tie it shut I stopped myself, because the goal was to make it all fit into the bandanna.

I left this in the ladies bathroom of The Department of Family Services in Fort Wayne IN. The building houses several other things like The Work First program. The building is located on Rudisill Blvd. I felt it would be a good place to leave a toy.

I dropped 5 toys around the City of Ft Wayne In.

This is an octopus I made. he was dropped at Forest Park Elementary School in the playground while it was deserted.

Below is a doll I made it was dropped at a Walmart on Coldwater RD in Ft Wayne IN. We hung it on a Shopping Cart Coral.

Below is a seahorse I made we dropped it at a Rally's on the outside bench (again on Coldwater Road)

Below is a Teddy Bear he was rather impatient and wanted to go by bus so we dropped him in a bus hut near the Rally's on Coldwater.

This next toy started out as an owl but somewhere along the way got very very lost. Since he was such a fictional looking critter we took him to Tecumseh Branch Library on State St in Ft Wayne In. The staff were not to thrilled with the drop but allowed it anyway. I doubt I'll drop there again.

I have been busy making stuffys. First priority is making kid safe ones for my partner's granddaughter. She is absolutly adorable. The above pic was taken right after she demolised a Big Watermelon Cookie, it was so funny! Second I am making for the toy society I just have not been well enough this week to go out. So I have a new teddybear, an octopus & seahorse waiting to be dropped. The baby gets one stuffy of each kind that I make. Normally in some shade of Purple.

Don't worry the table cloth is vinyl, we do not have a highchair but we took an old desk chair & seat belted her in with a dog collar. Too funny but it worked.

I've been busy this week since I have to keep my leg elevated again & everything. I apologize that some of the pics came out darker than I expected, and it was too late to retake them when I found out. There were 5 toys dropped today. As my knee is blown out again my daughter (Heather) & her girlfriend (Dede) assisted in this drop. They observed two of the toys being found. The snake and the red Scottie, two little girls found them & were very excited at the find. I think Dede was more excited and had more fun out of it than the children did.

This is a "cat doll" that we dropped in one of the many flower gardens of a local park.

This is a small snake that I used the last of some leftover fabric to make, it was dropped on a water fountain near a playground at the same park.

This is a black Scottie Dog that was dropped on a bench near the playground in the same park.

This is a red Scottie that was dropped in a secluded sitting area of the same park.

This is a teddy bear that we dropped just across the street from the park.

We did not sleep too good on this trip we were supposed to get a queen size bed but had a full size bed, yeah that worked out real well for two queen size women in a full size bed. Unfortunatly we could not switch rooms as the place was sold out. :(

My second drop I choose a local soup kitchen/ homeless shelter. The toy was another Scotty dog but about 2 times the size of the first two and made from cotton novelity print of doggy stuff, the fabric has dogs on it & phrases such as bow wow or ruff ruff.

I have always enjoyed sitting around sewing as I watch TV with my partner. I can once more enjoy doing this. As a result I recently found and joined The Toy society. I made my fiirst toy drop on 5-18. I dropped a total of two toys in two seprate locations.

I made two little Scotty dog stuffies. I made these from felt a dark brown one and a cream one. I gave the dark broen one black eyes and nose all embrodered with an orange ribbon. The cream colored one had embrodered blue eyes and a tiny black pompom nose with a blue ribbon to match the eyes. The cream colored was dropped at a church daycare/sunday school. The dark brown one was dropped at our local park on a play thingy that has bridges slides and that sort of thing.

For many years I was unable to even use my sewing machine, last Nov. I underwent surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. In the last few months I have found that I can again use my sewing machine, and use a needle and thread again. I am relearning to crochet, though my efforts at this time is very juvenile. I am once more happily using my hands to create things to bring others joy. Whether it be toys for The Toy Society, or gifts for my family or others I am finally enjoying my recovery and decided to share it with you.
